Turkey allocates $18.5B for 2021 Investment Programmes
Turkey issued an investment plan to fund 3,091 projects in 2021 worth $18.5 billion (138.3 billion Turkish liras), according to an official gazette released on Friday.
By money allocated, the transportation and communications sector will take the lion’s share with $5.7 billion (42.47 billion Turkish liras), followed by education with $2.66 billion (19.83 billion Turkish liras).
As per the plan, Turkey’s Transport and Infrastructure Ministry will receive some $2 billion, while the State Hydraulics Works (DSI) will receive $1.8 billion and the Highways Directorate $1.75 billion.
Under the programme, the highest number of projects (496) lies in education sector, followed by 756 in social and economic sector, 469 in transportation and communication, 291 in agriculture, 211 in health, 125 in energy, 97 in manufacturing, 95 in residential, 55 in tourism, and 46 in mining.
