The Punjab Government to Provide Relaxation in Sales Tax on Services

5 June 2020, Lahore: The Punjab government will provide some relaxation on sales tax in departments of services but it does not include property tax and extension in entertainment duties. According to the budget 2020-21, there was a huge backdrop of taxation due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

The ministries are questioning the taxation department that besides some relaxation in taxes and duties in Punjab why are vehicles on road not being registered in Punjab but in other provinces. Officials further demanded to create awareness about reduction and duties on vehicle registration in Punjabi so that the maximum number of vehicles can be registered in the province.

The hiring of new staff should be imposed in the taxation department so that the burden of work can be divided among more people and sectors instead of putting a burden on existing taxpayers. This way work can be handled more efficiently and will allow more citizens to register their vehicles in the department.
