LAHORE: The Punjab government has released funds worth Rs 47 billion for more than 3,000 development projects under the District Development Program.
Provincial Finance Minister Hashim Javan Bakht mentioned that the funds of Rs 47 billion released by the Punjab Finance Department would be spent on 3605 development projects during the current financial year 2021-22.
The funds were assigned for the Package District Development Program announced by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
According to the sources, The provincial minister stated that “The aim of the district development program was not only to address the lack of opportunities at the social level in the less developed districts but also to bring these districts on par with other parts of the province.”
