The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government (KP) plans to spend Rs68 billion on the economic uplift projects of its tribal districts. The government has intended to spend Rs28.4bn on technical education and Rs14.5bn on tourism sector.
The plan comprised 84 projects majorly involving seven major sectors to boost the socio-economic condition of the tribal areas. The initiative would be supported by the Accelerated Development Programme under which Rs28.445 billion would be spent on technical education, Rs.14.50 billion on agriculture sector and Rs.8 billion on the tourism industry.
The small and medium enterprises would be supported with Rs.7.50bn rupees, minerals with Rs.4.43bn rupees, agribusiness with Rs4,19bn and Rs1bn has been allocated for the forestry department.
