RDA Seals a Total of 104 Illegal Properties
Director General (DG) RDA Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa ordered the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to conduct an operation against unlicensed and unlawful commercial constructions. A total of 104 illegal properties were sealed.
According to a RDA spokesperson, the Land Use and Building Control (LU&BC) Wing of the RDA carried out an operation against unauthorised commercial buildings and sealed 100 shops in five markets at Banni Stop and Mori Ghazan on Chakri Road, as well as four shops and one residential under-construction building at Gulraiz Housing Scheme Rwp.
Expressing his views, he claimed that as part of their continuous anti-encroachment campaign, the relevant authorities are taking action against people who break the law and unlawful and unlicensed business and residential buildings.
The DG had instructed the relevant authorities to encroachments, unlawful residential or commercial buildings, and harsh action against them without any kind of distinction. He added that the DG has also given citizens the go-ahead to clear encroachments.
He continued that RDA recommended citizens to research housing schemes before making any investments.
