RDA Drafts Master Plan for Next 25 Years
Rawalpindi: Chairman Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Saif Anwar Jappa announced on Saturday that the organisation was working with the local government to create a master plan for the district’s next 25 years.
He declared that separate regions will be set aside for the central business, industry, and housing projects. Consequently, housing societies and businesses will not be permitted outside of the defined regions.
He declared that agricultural land would be protected in accordance with government regulations in order to preserve a clean environment.
On the RDA website, www.rda.gop.pk, the RDA chairman has invited the public to submit comments regarding the Periurban Structure Plan and site development zones.
According to him, the majority of housing projects in the district were built on smaller lots and did not include space for a school, a college, parks, a mosque, or graveyards.
He claimed that because new housing developments lack graveyards, the load has been placed on the garrison city’s existing graveyards.
According to the law, private housing schemes were required to set up sewage treatment facilities, water filtration systems, and water supply arrangements in their respective areas, but none did so in the district.
He attributed all infractions to the absence of a master plan. He claimed that the absence of a master plan was the cause of commercial sectors existing in residential areas because there was no space set aside in the garrison city for both industrial and workshop uses.
