RDA’s Governing Body Gives Approval to Ring Road & Lai Expressway
Rawalpindi: In the 56th meeting of governing body, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) gave a green signal to two megaprojects, including Rawalpindi Ring Road and Leh Nullah Expressway, after getting approval from Punjab Planning and Development Board.
The meeting was presided by Chairman RDA, Tariq Mehmood Murtaza while Commissioner Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah, also attended the meeting.
In the meeting, the Chairman was of the view that the two megaprojects are the government’s gift to the citizens of Rawalpindi and Islamabad and it will reduce the traffic congestion in the twin cities.
The alignment described as Ring Road will be 38.3 kilometers long and most feasible, economical, and viable to connect G.T. Road from Banth to Thallian Interchange Motorway.
The PM Pakistan Imran Khan will perform the groundbreaking on Dec 25.
