Rawalpindi To Go Green With A Month-Long Tree Plantation Drive

As directed by the Prime Minister, an extensive plan has been designed to transform Rawalpindi into a cleaner and greener place for its citizens.
ISLAMABAD: As directed by the Prime Minister, an extensive plan has been designed to transform Rawalpindi into a cleaner and greener place for its citizens.
A month-long tree plantation drive is soon to be organized in Rawalpindi. The campaign will cover the following areas: Rawalpindi city, cantonment, and tehsils- starting from the 22nd of February and ending on the 22nd of March.
Members of the Provincial Assembly, National Assembly, federal ministers, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and other important officials will be expected to play a part in the campaign.
It has been stated by Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner Tahir Farooq that certain milestones have been set to beautify the city and transform it entirely within 3 months.
The plan entails the plantation of 100,000 trees that will stand 10 to 20 feet tall. These trees will be planted in different tehsils including Murree, Kahuta, Taxila, Kallar Syedan, Gujjar Khan, Rawat, Mandira, and motorway stops.
To ensure proper growth of the plants- water, medicines, and fertilizers will also be assigned to the relevant authorities.
