Updated Traffic Plan Released for Pak-Australia Cricket Series – Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi: The Traffic plan for the Pak-Australia match and practice sessions has been finalized by the City Traffic Police (CTP) to ensure smooth traffic flow in Rawalpindi. Traffic police personnel will be deployed across the suggested alternate routes.
During the cricket matches, awareness banners will be displayed on the major highways for the ease of motorists.
The practice sessions have begun on the 27th of February, and the test matches will commence from the 4th of March at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Naveed Irshad stated that 350 traffic police personnel would perform their respective duties according to the plan.
CTO Naveed Irshad further mentioned that there would be a closure on the Stadium Road during the match days from both sides of 9th Avenue Chowk towards Murree Road.
Rawalpindi citizens traveling towards Islamabad through Double Road-9th Avenue will enter Islamabad from Faizabad.
The CTO further continued that motorists entering from Ghousia Chowk will be sent to Farooq Azam Road, Kuri Road.
People coming from Islamabad will be able to use Murree Road and Islamabad Expressway from Faizabad. According to police authorities, traffic coming from 9th Avenue through Double Road can enter Rawalpindi via IJP Road, Katarian, Pandora Chowki, Pir Wadhai Mor, Carriage Factory, and Chak Madad.
Citizens can also acquire additional information on the ongoing traffic through social media websites and FM 88.6.
