CDA on Track to Deliver Rawal Dam Interchange Project
Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is on track to complete the Rawal Dam Interchange project by the end of September. The project has now entered its final steps and is going to be finalised in 2 months.
Filling work on both interchange ramps has been completed. A spokesman from CDA stated that instructions have been delivered to the concerned to carry out additional compaction to alleviate the effects of ongoing rains on construction activities in order to ensure quality travel facilities. To minimise the effects of heavy rainfall, granular material is being utilised to avoid any hurdle in construction.
The Capital Development Authority’s management sent instructions to the relevant departments that the pace of work should be sped up, but the quality of work should also be maintained in all circumstances. Furthermore, the management stated that all available resources should be used to complete the project ahead of schedule.
The FWO is now working on the Rawal Dam Interchange project, which was intended to be finished one month ahead of schedule. The project was supposed to be finished in October 2022.
The project includes numerous slip roads, an underpass, an overhead bridge, and an underpass that connects Margalla Town. The construction is happening near the junction of Murree Road, Club Road, and Park Road.
When completed, the project would prove to be beneficial for commuters who have become accustomed to traffic congestion on this stretch of Murree Road.
