The rampant construction activities push cement sales up by 24.3pc and exports witnessed a considerable growth of 252pc during April 2021 as compared to the same month of last year.
As per the figures released by All Pakistan Manufacturers Association (APCMA), the cement sales posted a growth of 19pc during the 10MFY21 as compared to the corresponding period of last fiscal year against the fact that construction activities slowed down during the month of Ramadan.
The total cement dispatches (domestic and exports) in 10MFY21 were 48.274m tonnes as compared to 40.555m tonnes in 10MFY20.
According to the official statistics, the local sales and exports of cement grew by 40.41pc in April 2021 and dispatched about 4.943m tonnes of cement against 3.52m tonnes during the same month of 2020.
The spokesman of APCMA said that the export of cement is expected to reach nine million tonnes by June 2021.
Major regions where cement is being exported are East Africa, Asia and the Middle East of which Afghanistan receives the most of about 50pc.
