PM Orders CDA To Launch Peshawar Mor Metro Bus Service
ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to operationalize the Peshawar Mor-Islamabad International Airport (IIA) bus service from Saturday.
The Prime Minister inspected the metro bus earlier and ordered an inquiry into the delay of the project as well. He also mentioned that the bus service should remain free of cost for passengers in Ramadan.
The metro bus project (26.5 km track) was executed by the National Highway Authority (NHA) in 2017, however, last year, the project was handed over to CDA.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also requested a feasibility study on employing metro bus service on Bhara Kahu-Peshawar Mor and Rawat. Furthermore, he ordered repair work on the bus track as well.
Moreover, he mentioned that a total of Rs 16 million was utilized on the bus service project, however, it is to date unfinished, even after 5 years.
Expressing his views on the context, he stated that public transportation provides travelers with a feasible and eco-friendly way of commuting.
