CDWP Proposes 2 Projects Worth Rs345b To ECNEC For Approval
Islamabad: On Monday, the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) sent two projects worth Rs345.626 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for further consideration.
The Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan. Secretary Planning Hamid Yaqoob Sheikh chaired the meeting with senior officials from Planning Commission & Federal Ministries in attendance.
The projects submitted for approval include “Universal Health Coverage under Health Insurance Program in Punjab – a health insurance scheme coverage for 100 percent permanent residents of Punjab, worth Rs332.844 billion. The initiative will provide cashless in-patient healthcare secondary and priority care to household members of the family, yet, there is no limit to family size.
The second project titled “Higher Education Development in Pakistan (HEDP)- Revised,” a project worth Rs12.782 billion was also submitted for approval. The project focuses on low and fair participation for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, poor quality of teaching, and research conditions.
Deputy Chairman Planning Commission directed all concerned officials to ensure timely completion of projects i.e 60 Months, crucial for the socio-economic welfare of the people of Pakistan.
