Letter To Construct Multi-Story Parking Plaza In Blue Area Still Pending

Islamabad- The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has yet to pass a formal letter to commence the development project of a parking plaza in the business bay of Islamabad- Blue Area.

Over the years, there has been a dire need for a parking space in the Blue Area. In this regard, the CDA granted a contract to National Logistics Cell (NLC) for the development of a parking plaza in December 2021.

A representative for CDA’s engineering department said that the letter will be issued in a few days and that the cause of the delay was a slight issue with the design; those problems were recently worked out and resolved as well.

The parking plaza is going to be located next to Savour Foods in Blue Area and will have space to accommodate 1300 vehicles at once. There will be shops located on the ground floor of the parking plaza, and open-air restaurants will be established on the fifth floor. Initially, the CDA had constructed two basement parking lots instead of parking plazas in Jinnah Super Market. Although these two were costly projects, the parking lots were not made use of properly.
