The Kahuta Industrial Area Road Network is decided to be revamped by the Capital Development Authority (CDA). CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed said the industrial area remains neglected in terms of road network despite it being launched decades ago.
The CDA called bids to improve the road network in this industrial area. CDA Chairman said that Rs350 million will be spent to improve the road network of Kahuta Triangle which is a major industrial area.
He said that this industrial zone had been contributing to the city’s needs, therefore, CDA had decided to provide maximum facilities to industrialists.
As per the CDA officials there are 350 industrial plots and most of them are in use by industrialists. They said that ghee factory, steel mill, paper factory, beverage factory, motorbike plant and numbers of pharmaceutical companies are operating in this industrial area.
It was further stated that a special economic zone will be developed along this road to boost industrial activities and create job opportunities in Islamabad. The proposed bypass will start from G.T. Road and while crossing from eastern side of Capital City will culminate at Murree Road near Bhara Kahu.
To foster economic activities and create employment opportunities, the special economic zone will be developed along this road.
