Govt Releases Over Rs14 Billion for 113 Housing Projects
Islamabad: In order to carry out 113 different projects aimed at ensuring the availability of reasonably priced residential facilities, the government has thus far released funds totaling Rs 14.252 billion under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP 2022-23) against a total allocation of roughly Rs 18.737 billion.
According to official statistics made available to APP, about Rs 3,191.77 million of the total authorization/disbursement of Rs 14,252.66 million was used on housing sector projects throughout a seven-month period (July-January) of the current fiscal year.
The budgetary allocation consisted of Rs. 1,711.875 million for six new programmes and Rs. 12,273.329 million for 107 continuing projects.
According to the PSDP document, Rs. 523.168 million had been been out for road construction and rehabilitation in Hyderabad City (20 development schemes).
Amounts of Rs. 486.159 million and Rs. 406.211 million, respectively, had been set aside for the construction of metalled roads in various districts of Bahawalpur (24 development plans), and Purana Duki and Rabbat villages, respectively, in the Duki district.
In terms of the revised development plans, Rs 1 billion was allotted for road building and rehabilitation in Karachi’s SITE Industrial Area.
A budget of Rs 250 million has been set aside to build a carpeted road from Kot Sher to Jajoki in the Gujranwala District. Similarly, Rs 239.875 million would be set aside for the remaining 2018 liabilities.
