Lahore: On Tuesday, Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi set the groundwork for over Rs4 billion Data Darbar parking plaza, underpass, and infrastructure upgrade projects. These projects would be finished in six to eight months and will benefit locals and visitors alike.
With a parking facility for more than 500 automobiles, the parking plaza would feature two basements and six stories. A tunnel under the parking lot will go to the shrine’s basement. Lahore Development Authority (LDA) DG provided a project update.
CM was speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony for the Data Darbar parking plaza, underpass, and infrastructure improvement project. He said that Raiwind is the ideal venue to serve religion and that Data Darbar and Baba Fariduddin Ganj Shakar’s temple in Pakpattan would both have folding umbrellas installed.
He further stated that the government wants to upgrade the infrastructure because Urs-related road closures are problematic. He said that visitors would park their cars at the parking lot and use the underground pathway to enter the shrine on foot. He also said that the government would make accommodations for pilgrims travelling from outside.
He continued, noting that Lahore has been made accessible from Sheikhupura and RUDA because roads are wide and comfortable. In the past few months, more than nine game-changing initiatives worth Rs23 billion have been announced for Lahore.
