CDWP approves projects worth Rs5b
The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) approved two development projects worth Rs5 billion and recommended three schemes of Rs53.5 billion to the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) for review.
The meeting was chaired by Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan. The projects related to agriculture and food, governance, transport and communications were presented in the meeting which covers the holistic poverty graduation approach covering all households.
The purpose of the projects is to mainstreamed Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in local development plans and strategies demonstrating strengthening of institutional coordination, reporting and monitoring mechanisms for SDGs, outlining resource requirements and supporting innovative approaches to accelerate progress on SDGs.
Governance related scheme “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Unit in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (UNDP-Assisted) – 1 Revised” worth Rs700.268 was approved in the meeting. The project related to agriculture and food titled “Gwadar-Lasbela Livelihood Support Project Phase-II” worth Rs12.328 billion was referred to ECNEC for its approval.
A revised PC-1 of the project foresees rehabilitation of 274 km of the existing provincial highway network of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The scheme includes construction of bridges, culverts, drainage, erosion and ancillary works along with allied facilities.
