CDA to Sell Vending Points (Kiosks) to Promote Economic Activity
Islamabad: The city managers have made the decision to sell vending points (kiosks) at various places throughout the capital city through an auction the following month.
The sale will take place on May 15, 16, and 17, according to the chief commissioner and chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Noorul Amin Mengal, and will feature a total of 1,807 vending points, with 200 kiosks up for bid.
It is pertinent to state that Islamabad will auction off vending points to boost the economy and clear encroachment.
The planning wing’s authorised vending points will be put up for auction under the supervision of the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI).
The winning bidders will be granted a 10-year licence to run the vending points, which will be built according to a particular design to improve Islamabad’s aesthetic appeal.
According to the specifics, the action is anticipated to spur economic activity and aid the CDA in getting rid of encroachment from public places.
To find new locations for vending points, which will also be leased out through open bidding, a new committee has also been established.
