CDA to Construct an Underpass Adjacent to Serena Chowk, Islamabad
Islamabad: In the vicinity of Serena Chowk, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) intends to widen Srinagar Highway and construct a single-barrel underpass.
A consultant will create a feasibility study and design for extending Srinagar Highway from the 7th Avenue Interchange to Serena Chowk, according to a media report.
An underpass will be built as part of the effort to reduce traffic. A consultant will be hired to perform a feasibility study for the Sector I-11 National Bus Terminal was also approved by the agency.
By June of this year, CDA also intends to have six parking lots finished. In some of Islamabad’s main commercial districts, the state intends to offer parking spaces for visitors.
To draw people, each parking plaza will feature a small shopping area, a food court, and a movie theatre. Each parking plaza will have 5 to 8 storeys to accommodate the most parking spaces possible. Parking plaza rooftops will be set up for gardening in an effort to improve the environment.
