Islamabad: The Margalla Hills National Park is likely to benefit from the construction of a new 5-kilometer road, which the Capital Development Authority (CDA) is currently considering to develop.
According to sources, the proposed route would connect a well-known restaurant with Bari Imam, raising questions about how it would affect the park’s ecosystem.
The plan will be examined by the CDA’s Planning and Engineering Wings before being submitted to the Development Working Party (DWP) for approval.
It is important to note that the development of roads, motorways, and housing societies, which have put the environment in danger, has already had a negative impact on Margalla Hills National Park.
Waste left behind by tourists enjoying themselves has also cluttered the park, endangering the health of its wild creatures.
Officials have stated that a decision won’t be made until after a comprehensive assessment of the project, which is why the proposal for the additional road has not yet been approved.
