CDA to complete construction work of Pedestrian Bridge over Constitution Avenue
26 June 2020, Islamabad: Capital Development Authority will complete work for construction of the pedestrian bridge over Constitution Avenue in the first week of July. The construction work is proceeding ahead in full swing and after completion foundation casting, erection work on the bridge is in progress. The prefabricated steel bridge has been transported at the site while erection machinery has also been reached at the site. The pedestrian bridge is being constructed over Constitution Avenue in front of the Pak Secretariat.
The construction and installation of the bridge would start during the weekend so that the busy routine business of the offices at Constitution Avenue is not affected. In this connection, with the consultation of Islamabad Traffic Police, it has been decided that bridge erection work will be started from Saturday evening. For this purpose, Constitution Avenue will remain closed for traffic from 06:00 P.M June 27, 2020, To 06:00 P.M June 28, 2020.
The completion cost of the pedestrian bridge is at a cost of Rs.39 Million. Keeping in mind about the utilization of the project, as CDA has worked on the project during the smart lockdown period. Effective vigilance was ensured and now work on the project is about to be completed.
After its completion, the pedestrian bridge over Constitution Avenue will create significant ease for motorists as well as pedestrians as it will improve traffic flow and minimize the risk of accidents there.
