CDA Requests a Forensic Audit of the Land Allocation Eligibility Certifications
Islamabad: The civic agency has asked the Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) to carry out a forensic examination of the eligibility certificates (ECs) granted by the CDA to individuals between 1960 and 1986 in exchange for the land they had previously acquired in Islamabad.
Many reports concerning double benefits, according to CDA sources, were made as several EC holders eventually surrendered their ECs to obtain agro farms in Islamabad.
As a consequence, the CDA has decided to have the AGP conduct a forensic audit of every EC.
A forensic audit of ECs is asked in light of the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s directives in civil appeal 19 of 2014, the letter continued. The CDA dealt with the land-affected persons by compensating them by allocating plots against the acquired land and built-up property in addition to granting ECs for land in colony districts.
According to sources, 304.62 kilometres of land have so far been obtained through individual awards. 527 awards have been made against the acquired land overall, and 158 awards for built-up properties have been notified.
