CDA Removes 6,295 Illegal Buildings Including Markets, Roads & Green Belts
Islamabad: Over the past year, the federal capital’s markets, roads, green belts, and sidewalk tracks have seen 6,295 illegal buildings dismantled by the Directorate of Enforcement, Capital Development Authority (CDA).
“During the operation, about 10,262 encroachment-related artefacts were also confiscated; these things were then auctioned off. In addition, trespassers have been penalised with fines of Rs. 4.082 million, a CDA spokesman informed APP.
He claimed that throughout the course of the previous year, the Directorate of Enforcement carried out 1,142 anti-encroachment operations across the board in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
According to the officer, in order to stop unauthorised construction in the ICT, the Directorate forcefully carried out anti-encroachment operations on a daily basis throughout Islamabad.
He said that day in and day out, 24/7, operations were being carried out to reclaim state land from encroachers and land grabbers.
The representative stated that the Directorate of Municipal Administration, which operates under the administrative supervision of Municipal Corporation, Islamabad, was handling the situation.
