CDA Opens Trail 7 in Islamabad
Islamabad: On Tuesday, the recently appointed Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman officially opened a hiking route and inspected the Margalla Avenue that is currently being built.
Trail 7 was officially opened by Capt. Mohammad Usman Younis. It begins in sector C-12 and ends in Kanthla village. Speaking at the event, he declared that beautifying and greening Islamabad was his main priority.
He also looked over the Margalla Avenue project, which is now under development from G.T. Road to sector D-12, and gave the relevant formations instructions to finish the work as quickly as possible.
The road’s construction was scheduled to be finished in June of this year, however due to CDA’s revisions to the work’s scope, it was unable to be finished by the deadline.
The organisation later granted a six-month extension, and now the work is scheduled to be finished in December. Construction work is currently ongoing, and over 80% of it, including the installation of carpet, has already been completed.
It is pertinent to mention here that Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, just gave the CDA four months to finish building the bypass route. According to sources, the new chairman had ordered the engineering wing to go to work right away. Within a week, the work is anticipated to begin.
