CDA Launches Bhara Kahu-Murree Bus Service
Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a shuttle bus service between Islamabad and Murree at discounted rates.
The CDA has hired M/S Faisal Movers to operate the aforementioned subsidised bus service between Bhara Kahu, Islamabad, and Lower Topa, Murree. The service will only be provided on weekends starting the next week, with an estimated eight buses operating on this route everyday with a one and a half hour interval.
The bus operator would charge the CDA Rs250 each passenger, of which Rs100 will be collected from the passengers and the remaining Rs. 150 will be covered as a “subsidy” by the civic authority out of its own funds.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, and Hanif Abbasi, three senior leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, launched the bus service.
The service is currently planned to be offered in the month of January, but depending on the sustainability and response of the commuters, it may be extended.
