Islamabad: High-rise building owners in Islamabad have been given a deadline by Capital Development Authority (CDA) of six months to build emergency stairs or else legal action will be taken.
During a conference, it was decided that buildings in Islamabad with four floors or more should have emergency staircases constructed outside the building’s console.
In addition, the Chairman of CDA stated that new buildings should be built with emergency staircases. He also stated that parking spaces should be left in the open areas at the front and back of buildings, depending on the size of the plot.
Furthermore, he said that the necessary departments have been told to expedite the plan’s approval within 15 days of submitting the required paperwork for the benefit of the builders.
In this case, the developers claimed that having direct access to the Chairman CDA will aid in the resolution of numerous problems. In the discussion, it was determined to set up an express counter at one window operations for a one-day transfer of the property.
The Design Vetting Committee will now meet weekly rather than biweekly. The Chairman of the CDA went on to say that the CDA has some obligations and that certain laws are relevant to societies and they are required to follow the laws and guidelines.
