CDA Effectively Completes Cleanliness Drive in Islamabad
Islamabad: On the first day of Eid-ul-Azha, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) initiated a cleanliness campaign in Islamabad that was successfully finished on Tuesday.
More than 1,100 tonnes of animal remains from sacrifices were destroyed during the aforementioned procedure. To keep the city clean, about 2,000 sanitary employees continued to be actively involved in this activity.
The Directorate of Sanitation made special arrangements in Islamabad this year for the evacuation of the carcasses of more than 63,000 sacrificed animals under the direction of the CDA administration. In this regard, more than 90 deep trenches were constructed at 40 separate locations, where the relics and animal carcasses used as sacrifices were systematically destroyed.
To accomplish the desired effects, the city had been split into four zones for Eid-ul-Azha. In this regard, the Sanitation Directorate’s employees’ holidays were postponed during Eid so that they may work together to keep the city clean.
More than two thousand people participated in this emergency operation. The effort involved more than twenty tractor-trolleys, compactors, vehicles, dumpers, shovels, and dozers.
Two emergency cells were also established, one at the Sanitation Headquarters and the other at the Sanitation Directorate at the Fire Headquarters, to address any complaints quickly.
