3 Pedestrian Bridges to be Constructed by CDA
Capital Development Authority (CDA) is rapidly working for the development of Islamabad. New projects are being launched for both the housing sector and infrastructural development. Adding one more initiative in this domain, CDA has started construction of three pedestrian bridges at different locations of the capital city Islamabad.
The construction work on these three bridges will be initiated simultaneously. The three bridges are being constructed on the Kashmir Highway near the Sunday (Itwar) Bazaar, the Faisal Avenue on the Sector G-7/2, and Sector G-8 intersection near the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), and on Jinnah Avenue at the Mehran gate of the Sector F-9 Park opposite Sector G-9/2.
These bridges will be constructed to facilitate pedestrians and will help in reducing accidents while efficiently maintaining the flow of traffic. Incumbent management of the authority included the construction/ installation of pedestrian bridges among its priorities.
The cost of the entire project is summed to be around Rs 135 million. Pedestrian bridge Jinnah Avenue at Mehran Gate will be constructed at cost of Rs.40.12 million, Pedestrian bridge at Kashmir Highway near Weekly Sunday Bazaar will be constructed at cost of Rs.51.94 million and pedestrian bridge at Faisal Avenue near PIMS hospital will be constructed /installed at cost of Rs.42.93 million.
