RDA Acts Against 5 Illegal Housing Schemes in Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi: Following the Director General’s (DG) orders, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has taken action against five unauthorised housing societies.
Owners of unlicensed schemes in various parts of Rawalpindi received notifications from the RDA’s Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate.
The DG has warned individuals against making investments in unauthorised projects and directed the authorities to crack down on unlawful housing schemes and the promotion of them.
According to the RDA spokesman, FIRs would be filed against rulebreakers. The RDA has also asked the FIA’s Internet Crime Division to take legal action against these schemes’ unauthorised advertisements.
Before investing in any project, the public is asked by RDA’s Planning Branch to examine the status of housing developments on the agency’s official website.
The RDA has issued a warning, stating that it would not discriminate in its ongoing campaign against illegal housing plans.
The names of the five illegal housing complexes to whom RDA has issued notices are as follows:
- Green Lake City at Dhoke Bhaia Rawat
- Royal Ghar (Apna Ghar) at Mouza Paryal Chak Beli Khan Road
- Safanza New Era at Ralla Gujrain Chak Beli Khan Road
- Hoon Farm House at Mouza Adyala Road Rawalpindi
- New Iqra City at Mouza Dheri Jorian, Rawat Rawalpindi
The RDA representative continued by claiming that those behind illegal housing plans were misleading the public through deceptive advertising. To prevent financial losses, the DG has recommended citizens to only invest in initiatives that have been approved.
