RDA Seeks Bids From FWO & NLC For Katchery Chowk Remodeling Project
Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority is planning to hold a competition between the National logistics Cell (NLC) and Frontier Works Organization (FWO) for the Katchery Chowk renewal project, valued at Rs 3.99 billion.
Besides the construction cost, Rs 135 million will be utilized for shifting utility services. Further, Rs 5 million have been allotted for traffic maintenance and other works, and Rs 387 million are assigned for land acquisition.
The RDA Chief Engineer Dr. Habibul Haq Randhawa sent a letter to the two entities for contract bidding of the Katchery Chowk project on April 7th.
In the letter, FWO and NLC were asked to collect the tender documents from RDA Chief Engineer’s office. They were further requested to submit the documents at his office with a financial and technical bid.
Moreover, the letter included that the potential contracting firm should have Rs 5 billion average construction turnover and Rs 6 billion minimum net working capital between 2020 and 2021. The firm is also required to have completed similar projects with a total cost of Rs 4 billion or more in the past 10 years.
The firms, directors, and partners should not be blacklisted and should not have gone into a plea bargain with NAB and any such agency.
RDA plans to make the main square signal-free. Commuting will be made easier for motorists as a large number of them face immense traffic congestion on a daily basis.
