CDA Authorises New Development Projects and Auctioned Plots
Islamabad: The recently auctioned residential and commercial plots have been authorised by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) board, enabling the city administrators to retain revenue flow for ongoing and upcoming development projects.
The board usually accepts the auction results within a few days, but it was delayed because of a dispute over the reserved price of blue area plots. CDA sold 42 plots for Rs. 40.95 billion in late January.
A letter of provisional allotment will now be given to the winning bidders.
The board also voted to abolish entry fees for all parks, including F-9, Lake View, Daman-e-Koh, and Shakarparian, as well as for recreational areas around the city.
The board also agreed to hire 200 electric buses from the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) rather than buying them from the private sector and approved 13 additional feeder bus routes.
The board also resolved to enlarge a section of Srinagar Highway by building an underpass close to Serena Chowk and to create six new parking lots in the city.
A consultant will carry out a feasibility study on the National Bus Terminal in Sector I-11.
